Join us in welcoming Denise M. Reagan as the new Executive Director of The 5 & Dime

Denise M. Reagan has built her career as a creative and critical thinker with more than 25 years experience leading nonprofits and media companies. An award-winning writer and designer, she has been recognized for generating compelling content on multiple platforms, greatly expanding the reach of the organizations where she worked, and developing deep relationships throughout the community.

She launched her career in journalism, taking her to five different states before returning to Jacksonville to help lead one half of The Florida Times-Union newsroom. She later worked as editor of Folio Weekly, as communications director at MOCA Jacksonville, and as the first executive director of the Garden Club of Jacksonville. Denise has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including a stint as president of The 5 & Dime board in 2020-2021.

Thank you to the members of the search committee — Bradley Akers, Krysten Bennett, Holly Gutshall, Ashli Simmons, Madelene Skinner, and Elaine Smith — who brought thoughtfulness, insight, and care to every step of the process. We appreciate you!

I am overjoyed to join The 5 & Dime and help the theatre take its place among the top organizations in Northeast Florida,” Denise said. “Stories are the juice that connects our community. Stories speak to the humanity in each of us. The 5 & Dime tells stories like no other theatre."

We couldn’t agree more. Here’s to bold stories, big dreams, and an exciting new chapter for The 5 & Dime!
